WV Obituaries RENEITA SAPP Reneita "Patty" Patricia Sapp, 76 of Newburg, died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at Grafton City Hospital with her family by her side. She was born December 23. 1934 in Newburg, a daughter of the late Stephen L Watkins and Edna Miller Watkins Sheets and her step-father Neil J Sheets. She was a homemaker who enjoyed quilting, reading and flower gardens. She is survived by her hus- band, of 58 years. Kells J. Sapp; a daughter. Patricia J. Bolyard and Carl Wayne. of Independence, three brothers, Neil "Tom" Sheets, of Charles- ton, David Sheets and Rose. of Bealton, VA, Michael Sheets. of Newburg; four sisters. Iris Belcher and Gene. of Bud. Sal- ly Williams and P.J.. of Virginia Beach, VA, Sandra McDaniel and John, of Fellowsville, Carol Anders and Ed, of Falling Water and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she JOHN WAGNER John Wagnec, 92. of Morgan- town, died Friday, August 19. at his home. He was born in Masontown oil May 17, 1919. a son of the late John Daniel Wagner and Maril- la Deavers Wagner. John served in the Army dur- ing World Wax" II. He was a mail carrier for the U. S. Postal Service in the Mor- gantown area and retired after 20 years of service. He is survived by one daugh- ter, Rebecca Ayersman and husband Douglas. of Morgan- town; 2 brothers. Arthur Haney, of Bertz and Clyde Haney, of Kingwood: also 1 ~ister. Helen Nemeck, of Petersburg; 9 grandchild~-en and 30 great- grandchildren, and several niec- es and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., today, August 24, at the West Virginia Na- tional Cemetery, Pruntytown, with Rev. Allen Donham ~Sr. of- ficiating. He was born July 4, 1939 in Reedsville, a son of the late Anton and Mary Volk. He graduated from Valley High School in 1958 and was employed by Westinghouse Electric Company. He drove cross country for a moving company and drove school bus. He owned and operated Browns Mill Grocery for 9 years, and Edward Volk Truck ing. He served in the US Army in Germany for two years. Ed- ward was a member of St. Zita Catholic Church in Masontown where he was an Alter Boy. He enjoyed working on trucks and cars, and fanning. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Sue Volk; two sons, Christopher Volk and wife Amy, of Reedsville; Steve Volk, JENNIE WHITE Jennie Lee White, 78, of Terra Alta, died Wednesday August 17, 2011 at Garrett County Me- morial Hospital, Oakland, MD. She was born February 13, 1933 in Keyser, a daughter of the late Sarah Rachael and John P.C. Gerard. She attended Trinity United Methodist Church, Terra Alta. She was a CNA at East View Group Home, Dennett Road Manor and Hopemont Hospital, where she retired. She enjoyed crocheting cross bookmarks, which can be found all across the U.S.. She was a wife, moth- er and grandmother. She is survived by her hus- band of 62 years, 'John E. White; two sons, Thomas An- drew White and spouse Marjie, of Red House, MD and Edward Lee White, of Terra Alta; two daughters, Sally Martin and spouse Joe, of Oakland and Sandera Lou Miller and fianc6 Marty Sarver, of Terra Alta; of Reedsville; one granddaugh- ter; one brother and spouse, Joe and Jennie Volk, of Reedsville; and one sister Margaret E. Ur- sic, of Arthurdale. He was preceded in death by one brother Frank W. Volk, and one sister, Rose Marie Gerard. Per his request cremation ser- vices will be conducted by Field Funeral Home in Masontown. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date. three granddaughters, several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Neil and Max Davis and Howard Gerard; and four sisters, Rheba Murphy, Nellie Grove, Daisy Leatherman and Blanche Welsh. He was bom October 21, 1944, in Aurora, a son of Harry and Edna (Stemple) Slawter. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1966, and worked as a machinist at FAG Bearing Mfg., in Joplin, MO, retiring in Jan. 2011. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He is survived by his wife, Di- ana Wilson Slawter, three sons, Bob Cumming, Diamond, MO, Mark Cumming, and Michael Slawter, both of Neosho, MO; a daughter, Michelle Poulton, Neosho, MO; seven grandchil- dren and two brothers, John Slawter and James Slawter, both of Aurora. She was born October 7, 1939, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of the late Edward Peter and June Geraldine (Larsen) Gagnon.
