14-PRESTON COUNTY JOURNAL-Wednesday, August 24, 2011- Kingwood, WV R:eunions set Sat., Aug 20 The 82nd Annual Hawley Reunion will begin at noon, with registration and dessert judging, at the Terra Alta Town Park. The covered dish luncheon will begin at 12:45 p.m. Bever- ages and table service will be provided. There will be family photos, genealogical informa- tion, games and auctions; with a hot dog and corn roast later in the day. Donated items for the live and silent auctions are appreciated. The 31st Annual Charles and Cynthia (Durr) Mc- Carty Reunion will be held at the Charles McCarty Farm at Possum Hollow on the Bran- danville Pike. The annual Joseph and Callie Cobun Miller Reunion will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the home of David and Barbara Miller, near Tunnelton. Bring a cov- ered dish. The 50th Annual Thorn Re- union will begin at noon, at the residence of Rodger and Barb Thorn, in Borgman. Bring a covered dish and fam- ily photos. There will be an auc- tion and door prizes. Sun., Aug 21 The 89th Annual Gibson Reunion will be held at the North Preston Farmers Club (Salem Community Building) near Brandonville. The reunion will begin at noon with a basket lunch served at 1 p.m. The Mount Israel Cemetery Association will hold their 67th Annual Homecoming beginning with Sunday School at 10 a.m., at the Mt. Israel Church. Church services will begin at 11 a.m. and a basket lunch will follow. The Association will meet af- ter lunch to discuss old and new business and the election of new officers for next year. Every- one is welcome to attend. The church is located one mile off of US Rt. 50 East on the Mar- quess Rd. The 14th Annual Ridgway Cemetery Gathering will begin with a covered dish din- ner at 1 p.m. Items for auction and flowers for grave decorat- ing are appreciated.
